It's ten years since Lostprophets released their debut album 'thefakesoundofprogress' through Visible Noise Records and so to mark the occasion, we've planned something very special.

First up, we have a guest blog from one of the most important voices in UK rock music, Visible Noise founder and head honcho Julie Weir.

Julie has counted the likes of Lostprophets,  Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon (who'll be the next Live Show guests!) and more among her charges over the years and - let's be honest - knows her onions. So we asked her to write a guest blog to find out what she looks for in new UK talent.

And the cherry on the cake is that Ian and Mike from Lostprophets will be guest hosts of the final Live Show of this Red Bull Bedroom Jam season!

We're over the moon that the guys will be chatting about their career, and of course there'll be some Lostprophets merch up for grabs in the chat room too.

YOUR BAND COULD PLAY ON THE SHOW!

Ian and Mike will also introduce the final Bedroom Jam live session from a hot new act that's uploaded a video to www.redbullbedroomjam.com, and this could be you!

Simply upload your act's video. If you top the chart, you could be playing a live set from your bedroom during the show.

You could then be selected to play Download, T In The Park, Sonisphere, Underage and Hevy with RBBJ, and even make a record for free! Please note, your band must be UK/Ireland-based and include a member aged 19 or under.

"Hi all! I've been running independent Rock and Metal Label Visible Noise since 1998.... we are best known for our successes with Lostprophets, Bullet For My Valentine and are having a great deal of success currently with bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Your Demise.
 
"I am looking forward to being involved in Red Bull Bedroom Jam and to hearing all of your material. Having been an A and R Person for over a decade I have seen a number of musical styles rise and fall, but our bands are always true to what they believe themselves. We have never signed artists because they are fashionable sounding or "of the moment". We sign artists for their talent, belief and hard work.
 
"I look for a lot of traits in a band when I see them - and not being afraid of being different is a main one. We get bands emulating our artists a lot... which is very flattering for all, but why would we sign another version of the band we already have? We need edginess, self belief, and not being scared to do new things... Obviously, a great confident performance is also important.

"Throw in a good idea of aesthetics too and we have my ideal package - there is nothing worse than a band that don't know what they want to look like image wise, or how they want to be represented graphically....
